Question:
Do you have rental karts?
Answer:
No, the club does not rent karts. The club is for people who have their own equipment. If you are interested in karting, and have never driven before, we recommend you come down during a practice day and to ask questions and see what karting is all about. There may be a member that may loan you their kart. LVKC has a club kart available for use on practice days. You must meet certain age and physical requirements. For more information email info@lvkc.com.
Question:
How old do you need to be to start karting?
Answer:
The youngest age allowed on the track is 5 years old. Depending on your age and driving ability, there are several karting classes available for you to compete in. For a listing of these classes, please go to the Club Information page and click on the class listings.
Question:
Why do we need to purchase wristbands as a spectator?
Answer:
You must purchase a wristband once you enter the racing facility to be covered under our insurance. You may watch the racing in the parking lot – behind the gates – free of charge.
Question:
How much does a go-kart cost?
Answer:
Depending on the class, a go-kart can cost from $1500 used to $7000 new. This does not account for the safety equipment, spare parts, or tools.
Question:
Are go-kart safe?
Answer:
Racing is a dangerous sport. Accidents do happen. LVKC provides an ambulance on race weekends. Our track meets all safety guidelines necessary by our insurance carrier.
Question:
Can I race my kart if I do not meet one of your recognized classes?
Answer:
Yes. As long as you meet the current safety standards, we will find a class that you can race with.
Question:
Do you have food at the track?
Answer:
We have concessions available on race days only. Please bring a cooler with water. Las Vegas is a desert, and dehydration can set in fast.
